What the county recorded

This item is not from the published agenda

It is a stretch of the recording that this archive identified as a separate matter — a call to order, a recess, or something taken up that the agenda does not list. There is no official title, no staff recommendation and no disposition, because the county never recorded one. Everything below is inferred.

What was said

For those of you who haven't had the benefit of being at one of these meetings, let me just Run through the uh structure of the meeting. Very quickly. With the planning commission, we're appointed by the Board of County Commissioners. We meet Every two weeks. Um we serve as a local planning agency and we hold public hearing. and transmit to the Board of County Commissioners recommendations on Comprehensive plan amendments, land development code amendments. rezoning and conditional use requests. And the Planning

Commission is the final decision making body for special exceptions. Certain appeals. Variance requests and certain alternative standard requests. However however, final decisions may be appealed. to the Board of County Commissioners. If anyone is in opposition to any comprehensive plan amendment, plan development code amendment. Rezoning. Conditional use or any item where the planning commission makes a recommendation to the county commission. It's important for you to attend the appropriate county commission meeting. Uh

for you for you for those of you who are not f familiar with the format of the meeting. Uh we have three sections. We'll have uh may have continuances requested from the staff or from it from the applicant. It's been our um tradition to approve those requests. Unless there are extenuating circumstances. And uh then we have consent items. Those items are where Uh we we received an application and we haven't had any uh Any objection from uh either

written or in person? Um And those items will be Going through one at a time. If there's something on consent today that you'd like to have heard or you wanted to have discussed. as I call it out, please raise your hand and we can always pull it from the Consent agenda and move it to the regular. Items. And those are the items that will not be placed on consent or not continued. And um it will be part of the regular discussion. For the m bulk of the meeting. The

applicants will have uh Three minutes to make their presentation. Anybody in the audience who has questions will have uh three minutes to come up and ask their questions or state their concerns. And then the applicant will have an opportunity to come back up and Try to answer those concerns. Um unless there has been a request in writing at least twenty four hours prior to this meeting uh for extra time, um we're gonna try to hold our um

or times to those to those minutes, three minutes and five minutes. Um If anybody has a phone here that's not on the silent position, it's a good time to pull it out and put it on the silent position so we won't interrupt anybody that's speaking. And uh

The I wanna I'm also asked to remind you that we request that when you address the Planning Commission, you address the Commission in general and not any specific person. We want to try to uh maintain uh mutual respect between the attendees and the Commissioner so You could please do that. That would be helpful. And before we start the meeting, Uh we want to open the meeting for public comment. on the items not appearing on the agenda. but pertinent to this

body. Um so if there's anyone that wants to speak on an item that's not on today's agenda. This would be your opportunity to come up and speak.

Uh let me do two other things. if you do plan to give testimony or in other words, get up and speak today. I'd like you to stand and raise your right hand and be sworn, please.

Anybody that plans to talk today?

Clerk
