First let resolution is resolution number It's for uh Michael Northrop, so you would Come to the podium. Resolution number 21-134. Resolution by the Board of County Commissioners of Pasco County, Florida, recognizing Michael Northrup for receiving the 2021 national care and control. Association Animal Control Officer of the Year Award. Whereas each year the National Animal Care and Control Association committed to
setting the standard of professionalism and support for the almost 12,000 animal officers nationwide recognizes outstanding individuals throughout the country in the field of animal control and protection who have distinguished themselves as leaders in their profession and shown outstanding. Outstanding achievement in their organizations and communities. And RES, the National Animal Care and Control Association, has selected Pasco County Animal Services Officer Michael Northrop as its 2021 award recipient as Animal Control
Officer of the Year for his outstanding achievement and strong commitment to providing excellent customer service to the citizens and the animals in Pasco County. And Res, Officer Northrop, did Displayed multiple heroic acts of service to the citizens of Pasco County beyond his assigned duties, including rescuing a citizen from a vehicle fire while on duty, rescuing an elderly citizen from an abusive caretaker while on a routine animal control call, and rescuing a troubled pedestrian from danger in a busy
traffic intersection. And RAS Officer Northrop is a premier performer on the animal control team, routinely accepting the highest number of animal control calls and helping to resolve the most difficult cases, all while regularly being assigned to the busiest and often most challenging zone in the department. Whereas Officer Northrop shows great care and compassion for those citizens he encounters and is dedicated to the County's mission of premier performance and service excellence with the Pasco County Administrator
team. Now, therefore, be it resolved by the Board of County Commissioners of Pasco County, Florida, in session duly assembled, that said board hereby commends Animal Control Officer Michael Northrop for his dedication. Service excellence and for his selection as the National Animal Care and Control Association 2021 Animal Control Officer of the Year, done and resolved in regular session with the quorum present and voting this twenty-third day of March 2021.

you. Congratulations. Mike, Mike's got a lot to say.
Mr. Chairman, Commissioner's uh Mike Shoemate, Director of Animal Services. Um, we are truly proud of Mike uh for the work he does. Uh he also represented uh Pasco County very well as the state animal control officer last year. And so uh now he's moved on to take national honors. So we appreciate that very much. Um we actually have uh our own assistant uh Director uh Spencer Conover. who was duly elected uh recently to the uh board of NACA. the National Animal
Care and Control Association. He did not have any voting rights on that award, but um He is here to present for them and uh he has a an award for Mike. So
Thank you all for your time today. Uh what Mike represents as far as the progressive future of animal welfare and animal control is everything we're looking for as far as the National Animal Care and Control Association. And I'm proud as part of Pasco County to to have him represent our organization within the county. So Presenting to Mike, the twenty twenty, National Animal Care and Control Association Animal Control Officer of the Year.
