What the county recorded
This item is not from the published agenda
It is a stretch of the recording that this archive identified as a separate matter — a call to order, a recess, or something taken up that the agenda does not list. There is no official title, no staff recommendation and no disposition, because the county never recorded one. Everything below is inferred.

Aye.
District one Chairman Oakley.
Aye. Vote is unanimous. Thank you. Congratulations. Job well done. So I guess we've got another presentation. So
I do want to uh commend uh Gina for this award. She uh goes way above and beyond. everything we can imagine out there. She builds strong relationships with uh local rescue organizations and those throughout the state. Uh we're kind of the envy of some of the um uh major shelters and other counties around us. at our rescue program. Before she came on board, we were rescuing out maybe six to seven hundred animals.
Now we're well over a thousand or two thousand. So it's quite phenomenal and she's been a great help in helping us sustain our Save 90 program, which is consistently above 90%. So we're very proud of her and all that she does and uh she's a great leader for our team and we really appreciate everything she does.
So I'll take my NACA hat off real quick and put on my Pasco hat. Um what Mike and what what Gina have done uh over the last several years, including culminating in these two awards, uh, is a great example of uh what the work that Pasco County Animal Services is doing in gaining national recognition from organizations like NACA, Best Friends Animal Society, and the ASPCA. So congratulations to Gina on the 2021 Animal Welfare Professional. Of the year. Yeah.
Gina, don't you want to speak? Gina.
Let's get a photo.
Gina, wouldn't
Jack has not signed. The resolution?
Do you want to hold them in the picture? Commissioner Oriano hasn't signed, so once he does, then we can
hold them. Yeah, I'll hold it in.
Oh, I'm born.
Congratulations.
They should then get it.
Mike.
Wait wait a minute, Jack. Right. When I can't when I got elected four years ago. And we came here and that four years we were ups and downs with the animal service and everybody was fussing and carrying on. Look at the change.
Yeah.
I mean it's just amazing and awesome that the work that your team's doing in our county for
Yeah, I think that's exactly um
You pinpointed it when you said team and uh honestly it's amazing. Uh Dan's always talking to us about people, purpose and performance and getting the right people in the right positions make a world of difference.
Yeah.
So we thank you very much for your support.
Yeah. Do you have something to say, Dan?
Yeah. Uh She was a guest on the Pasco podcast of Recently. So she did a great job on that. Right.
Oh yeah. Commissioner Mariano?
Thank you, Mr. Chairman. Uh and I wanna highlight just exactly what you were saying. Uh you know, Kathy Pearson. Uh problem a bit ago, did a great job bringing Michael in, uh bringing the team in with Spencer, uh, with Michael, with uh Gina, the whole team has been absolutely phenomenal. What they've done as far as saving 90, they've surpassed that goal. Uh the customer service, the volunteers they bring in and the passion has been truly a premier part of Pasco County. So I just want to thank them all for the great. Work to do.
Okay, great job. Thank you. Appreciate it.
Thank you.
