Wawa bus stop garbage and code enforcement
What the county recorded
This item is not from the published agenda
It is a stretch of the recording that this archive identified as a separate matter — a call to order, a recess, or something taken up that the agenda does not list. There is no official title, no staff recommendation and no disposition, because the county never recorded one. Everything below is inferred.

for them. So I'm here to show you an example of what I saw yesterday. Um I believe this is one of the places where the people who are hanging out in the Wa Wa bus stop are living. We're gonna do our best to get rid of it. We're gonna have to do something with the woman who lives there, I believe if we condemn a property there where someone lives I think we have to put 'em up for a few years. Um but she needs some help. And she's being run over. by a a group of
people they tell me there's drug dealing going on there all day long. Um our sheriff's department knows this woman intimately and her deceased mother. Um and then I then we have the code enforcement issue. So Well. Wanted to bring that to your attention. Um
Mr. Starkey?
Yeah.
You know, there was a situation down on Leisure Lane, very s something very similar happened. Um
been given the home from her parents, whatever, and she was living in there. She she she was a young lady, but she was definitely Um struggling mentally.
Yeah.
Um and she was overburdened by these people that just come in and just Dominated her house, took her house, and it was one of the biggest drug houses that were there as well. Yeah,
that's what this is.
We cleared out the guys once, twice. And they came back again? Um and maybe Marcy's can you work with this lady to get her get her get some funding and they get to get the place cleaned up or whatever. But I mean it's a classic case of where she needs help to get rid of these people. So I I would love to see if Marcy can find a way to make that work.
This was a really, really small trailer with a porch attached to it, like a travel trailer, not a not an Not a mobile home.
Okay.
And to have all those people live in there, I d I don't I don't know how it's happening. And um and that they didn't even know her name and couldn't tell me her name. Um, yeah, it was r it was it was a real uh sad situation, definitely. So But I I w I do want to hear hear for the administrator what code is going to be doing about starting back to issue citations.
Or Four. Sally.
we will get back on the process and
I talked to attorney's office and they said they can.
But
So
I think
we need direction.
Okay, then we will
Thank you, Commissioner Sally Sherman, Assistant County Administrator for Development Services. In fact, we just completed a training with Chrissy from the County Attorney's Office that gave us some additional direction on this past Friday. Uh so we will be working with the Attorney's Office and move forward with issuing citations. And I think this is a property that has it's a recurring issue. They will go out there, it'll get cleaned up and then it's back in disarray. So
we'll coordinate with the attorney's office and h see how to move forward to get the issue resolved as well as working with other staff.
Great. And my understanding is we're um there's a house across the street, uh a mobile home across the street, uh, that was condemned that hasn't been It hasn't been taken out yet and we wanna add this to the list. If you look at the property I Not sure that's fit for anyone to live in. Um so hopefully it's gonna be on the condemnation list.
We have a list that and I know they're moving forward with and we'll um check to see if that house is included and if not, when can it be scheduled? Okay, great. Thank you. Thanks so much.
So thank you.
Okay.
Anything else?
Yep.
