Oakley reports ribbon cutting and Rotary meeting

What the county recorded

This item is not from the published agenda

It is a stretch of the recording that this archive identified as a separate matter — a call to order, a recess, or something taken up that the agenda does not list. There is no official title, no staff recommendation and no disposition, because the county never recorded one. Everything below is inferred.

The source document

The county’s agenda for Board of County Commissioners, Oct 24, 2023

The published PDF. Its text could not be extracted — it is an image-only scan — so nothing in it is searchable here, but it reads normally.

Approved minutes

So had a very, very good good ribbon cutting and

The main man made it, Doctor Gill. He's a good good friend, so So I was glad to see him there.

Okay. Is there another picture or is that it? Okay. Thank you. All right. I mean I told him there and um The fact of it is we have, you know, two and three hospitals coming into Pasco right now. And then all children's hospital coming at overpass. And then we have uh I think the Kaufman Clinic out of Zephyrhills there also in Wesley Chapel. and then also uh Saint Luke's coming there with with their care. and eye

care and that and you g we've gotten an area there that in Wesley Chapel It's gonna be known for a lot of health issues, for for hospitals and all and a lot of competition. And that high competition is so great. The fact of it is the benefactor of all that competition of them each of the hospitals and the clinics and all, trying to be the very best they can be, is gonna give our citizens the best service, best health care they could have. So we gotta be grateful for that. And

also we got Moffitt, you know, there too that They're huge, but it all this is competition. All of 'em are gonna try to be number one or the best. So it's great the fact that uh They're there and the citizens are gonna benefit from that. So

Um So next I ax I went to and spoke at the Zerf Hills uh Rotary Noon Club in uh On October nineteenth. Yeah, my farm won't quit ringing today.

But um yeah I spoke to the River Club and explained some of that, those issues and how everything's growing and you know the new bakery coming in Zephyrhills. I mean It just it just keeps coming in District One and and some I mean district District two's actually been growing for quite a while and District one kinda set there, but Now we're starting to catch up. There's a lot of good things coming into East Pasco County. Yeah. kinda changes the way we look at certain things because it's moved

so fast. So But we got a new r uh roadworks and all that coming in for us ninety-eight and three oh one. And then ninety eight course toward Pope County and all I I met some of the folks at are going to start building that section going from Clinton Avenue across and back to ninety eight, all the way to the county line. They're there looking at it 'cause they're fixed to start that job. So It's really important for our county. It'll it'll bring a lot of traffic through our county and a lot of business out of the Lacouche

area. that traffic will go different ways because all the road net work net network that we have in that area. So It's very good that we have that. Um Then the last thing I I I met with Mr. Kabbalah and I met with Eric. Yeah, we had a great meeting, but I want you to know our Our staff and uh Eric's department and Mr. Kavala, they're working for this all of our employees. And I am very grateful and thankful for what they're doing

and I think they're doing a great job in that. Uh actually believe that you're gonna see some real changes in the future. that's gonna make us that premier county that we're all striving to have. So But thank you for y y'all meeting with me and we discussing different things and The benefactor of all that's our employees and our staff. Uh they do a great job, they're gonna be able to be better and better. So So But that's all I have. Does anyone else have anything to say before we
