Two Good Souls event ARP plan and vaccine incentive
What the county recorded
This item is not from the published agenda
It is a stretch of the recording that this archive identified as a separate matter — a call to order, a recess, or something taken up that the agenda does not list. There is no official title, no staff recommendation and no disposition, because the county never recorded one. Everything below is inferred.

The Two Good Souls event. You know, we had the celebration a week or so ago. Um Uh and the re reigning champion uh repeated with internal services. Um, the constitutional officer that won theirs was the property appraiser's office, so you know, Mr. Wells. Uh the uh took that. Uh we collected uh three thousand shoes. again, that goes to the school board and they distribute it to those who need them. That's a tremendous partnership between Pasco County and the Shu schools. that we do in in since twenty sixteen it's been over twelve thousand pairs of shoes. So I mean it's a lot of keys.
It's pretty amazing. If you'll hang around when you're done. and watch the teachers and all that come in or their social workers come in and gather shoes for their kids. It's pretty amazing how it just Yeah, it's like a bunch of ass going to something, carrying it back to their to their home. But uh it's pretty amazing to see those shoes disappear after they're in there. So great great program. Done a lot of good for you know, a few years here now.
Right. And so yeah, again, three pages of good news. I'm not gonna go through it all. I will say that, you know, we did talk about Uh several months ago. Uh, when we brought the uh ARP plan to the board about premium pay and then also about vaccine incentive, the county so the county employees are now over seventy percent vaccinated. large part. So that's a twenty percent increase from where we were when we started uh the incident program. So That's substantially will impact our ability to deliver services but also lower our health
insurance costs due to complications with COVID. So that's uh just wanna give you that number seventy uh just over seventy percent now. Uh in Fire Rescue I think is actually a little higher. So And that's all I had, sorry.

Had I mentioned it to him We could've probably had Abby doing the presentation on behalf of us. We might have won.
So we'll work on it next year. But thank thank you, Abby, for having such a great heart and such a great family. Uh appreciate it.
