Um need to go in a drug treatment facility and uh Alexander from the Sheriff's Office was phenomenal. Pick up the phone, we got him some help and Uh that's being dealt with now. But I would like to see the first recommendations to what's going on with the program, where the money's gonna to go to what they're actually making recommendations for as quick as we can. I don't know to

1:48:17So were you talking about what the opioid task force has recommended? Or what what the what the programs are that this money will be spent on? I want to see what the task force is recommending right off the bat. Then I would That would be an administrator Paula Paula.

1:48:36You can maybe put a presentation ready and maybe come back to the next meeting. So just to kinda show us

1:48:39are actually Commissioner Paula Baracaldo, Director of Support Services here for Kathy Pearson. Um we're actually having our litigation assessment update uh on Monday and then depending on that then we'll start working on those recommendations. We do have a plan but without knowing when we're getting that funding and how much funding we're getting, it's hard to kind of put a percentage across that. But that conversation will be starting definitely on Monday. And then our next meeting will be April twenty fifth.

1:49:07So when do you find out how much money are in these things?

1:49:11The problem is that the way the uh Attorney General's office and outside counsel have structured these settlements the first step is your buy-in that you're willing to settle. And so all of these that we've brought forward to you

1:49:34The manufacturers, the distributors have not yet gotten to the end of their time clock to even say They're settling, you know, it it's a it's a proposed settlement. Okay. It's come to us to it so that it they have to cr get critical mass of the number of affected local governments to say yes and then you start hearing the dollars. Now

1:50:04on this one, this is the first one that's come in like this It says the proposed endo settlement is a lump sum payment of sixty five million dollars. That's Nationally. That's not us. So you would get 4.4% of $65 million as a lump sum payment in this case. But they're all different.

1:50:38So not to interrupt. But we do we do have a proposed plan with community recommendations and I can forward that to you. That's what we're starting to work with, and that's based off of the proposed settlement agreement that the state suggested. So we wanted to make sure that we aligned with that, but also we're looking at those um uh potential programs at the local level. But those discussions haven't started yet. We're starting on Monday.

1:51:01Okay. When we had done a um cleanup down at leisure lane. Down in Newport Ridge by Gulf Harbors and the Southgate Mall. Um there were probably like thirty homeless people there. And Don Anderson was actually down there trying to talk to people. Sheriff's Office was down there, code enforcement, trying to get these people helped. every single person they had turned us down. All with their own differ different reasons, not lack of trust, a lot of mental health issues. So those are the people that are probably in the woods still. Just moved on to a different neighborhood. It's gonna

1:51:32be imperative I think we s we work to mental health, helping that and looking at things. Marcy's got a plan coming up for a place up in Hudson she's gonna bring to us coming up. I think the Rope Center is a great place to kinda work with getting people back into it. And it was interesting. I was actually talking to a getting my hair cut the other day and I'm listening to a gentleman talking about the Rope Center, how it's helping him get his foot back on the ground. And always living with twenty other guys, whatever. They had plans by the way to actually try to look at putting a facility in just for the women instead of having like twenty women

1:52:02in one open room, whatever. They could put twenty more guys in there and if the women had another place to go, they could be on their own and be a probably a little bit better situation for them. Probably a good thing to go look at. So please keep all that in mind. Absolutely. And if if if you're not ready to bring it back because we don't have a plan yet, then don't feel to bring it back. Just as soon as you do get something coming forward, then bring that back.
