And um I'm a resolution by the Board of County Commissioners of Pasco County, Florida, celebrating the hundredth anniversary of the passage of the fifth 19th Amendment guaranteeing women the constitutional right to vote and commemorating March as Women's History Month and recognizing women

1:56:09who serve in public office.

1:56:13Uh we have today a many members of the uh Commission on the Status of Women in our lobby. Uh we would like to take a vote with the commission a photo with the uh commissioners after when we break. in the lobby and uh have some flowers uh for For the women.

1:56:42Yes, the um Port Ritchie uh I spoke with the mayor of Port Ritchie and they are undergoing an audit that as you you might recall was requested kind of by uh Representative of Mariano and they are almost done and the mayor asked that uh they finish that audit before they report to us because they want to report the information that they found in that audit. So we have agreed that uh they will move to January's meeting, the next January meeting when we're here in New Port Richey

1:57:44So we got some time. All right. Um, the first item is um I want to thank everybody for approving C sixty three this morning. Um, as you know that's the Seven Oaks Library design. Um obviously libraries are a very important uh scenario activity for our community, whether from reading books or allowing people to come and access internet, you know, the maker spaces that are going on now. I'm I spent a lot of time in libraries growing up, riding my bike, you know. From from home to them. It's just a great addition. And that was an area that First, I think the county

1:58:14first um took ownership of that property back in 2004, if I'm not correct. And no library was ever built there. So now we're moving forward. So I want to obviously thank um Kathy and her entire team for making this happen. Um we were able to use some of those excess funds that were turned by the tax collector's office to provide this first round of funding. Um again, great addition of the community. I know that area is gonna be Being that it's the highest growth area in the county, um It's the citizens are gonna be very, very happy with that addition. So

Also wanna mention that this we also approved a resolution on consent thanking City of Dade City Mayor Camille Hernandez for her eight years of service as a member of the tourist development council. So we'll make sure that she does um receive that resolution. She did an excellent job as a member of the T D C for all those years working with uh To start help start with the branding of Florida Sports Coast to the Wiregrass Ranch Sports Complex and a number of other projects throughout the area. I think upcoming

1:59:14Dade City is going to have the new visitor center too that this board have previously approved as well as the TDC. So thanks again to Mayor Hernandez. We appreciate every everything you've done for the TDC and we look forward to great things to come from Date City going forward. A couple of great things um that happen with the tourist development um DMO, um Florida Sports Corp, Florida Sports Ghost. Um A couple weeks ago um I attended with um the team I think is Adam in here now?

1:59:44Oh he's oh he had to go back, did he? Okay, that's okay. Um They won a number of awards and I want to congratulate them. So Experienced Florida Experienced Florida Sports Coast War won two Silver Flagler Awards, one for the design of the website and one for the meeting guide that we have that's out now. They're given out at the annual statewide competition recognizing outstanding Florida tourism marketing. Um these are open to all tour realism tourism marketing. related businesses as well as um counties and

2:00:15municipalities. So a huge congratulations to the Florida Sports Coast team for all they did. And I don't know why I can't say that word today, but for some reason it's just not coming out. Something else I think we all know is we want to welcome the Toronto Raptors to Pasco County. If you're not aware, Toronto Raptors are actually doing their training camp at Saint Leo University. Um because of COVID related restrictions in Canada, they're actually going to play their s season in

2:00:45Tampa. We are doing their training camp or hosting their trace training camp here in Pasco County Attorney University. Beautiful campus. I know we're thrilled to have them here. They're they're thrilled to be there. Um I think Amelie Arena is actually where we're gonna be playing their season. And something funny, uh the Toronto mayor actually, um, John Tory said There are raptors and Tampa Bay shouldn't get any ideas in re in that regard to keeping them here. So um To the mayor of

2:01:15Toronto. Um I don't know if they're gonna come back. When they come to Florida. They might actually want to stay here. I mean Canada's beautiful, but it's cold this time of year. Yeah. And who wants those high taxes you have to pay in Canada?

2:01:32So, you know, they they may uh they may entice them to stay here for good. Um I think that really I had one more thing, um, but I think uh Due to the time we c I can bring that up another time. It was just about a um a pr another hockey um event that's coming up um in December. Um

2:01:58Well real quick, I'll just let me just yeah Bru uh Premier Hockey League announced that Pasco County would be their hub for the upcoming season. This is really, really huge. They're gonna be staying at Saddlebrook and playing their games and practicing at Advent Health Center ICE. Um the US PH L is a junior hockey league. Some of the top youth hockey players in North America are gonna be here between six and nine weeks, actually starting in January. I think some of them will start coming in December, but January is when they're gonna start practicing and playing. Um so we're gonna have a number of coaches, staff, and teams are gonna be spending a lot, a lot of

2:02:28time here in Pasco County. We're turning into this is called the hub, but we're turning into ice hockey here in Pasco County. County moving forward. Um Tampa Bay is a great area for especially Pasco County. So thank you all.
