5:59All right, I wanted to give a little history of the Northeaster area plan. Uh you'll see a map in there and uh

6:10excuse me, this has nothing to do with any of the applications we're gonna hear today?

6:15Not really. This is the Northeast Rural Area Plan General, not specific.

6:26So the handout you've got is a bit of an unusual one. It's the handouts before we actually had the meetings. Yeah, and I wanna say that I was at them. And that's why I've got them. Anyways, uh how this all came about was we heard that the county wanted to approve 40,000 units between Dade City and Zephyrhills. That was the villages of Pasadena Hills. And nobody in our area really wanted that density. But then

6:56the county said, okay, we'll exchange Pasadena Hills and for the Northeaster area plan. And we went around along with that. And you'll see the map all the way on the end. Uh The North East re area plan today is a smaller area because we've had a lot taken away from our plan. Yet nothing's been taken away from Pasadena Hills. So we've messed asked many times for the Northeast Area Plan to be completed so

7:27the area is truly protected. And so I'm going to take you on a little tour of Blanton Road that happens to be in the middle of the Northeastern area plan. It's across from Pasco College on Blanton. And Dade City has annexed a rural area, part of the rural area that was considered our transition area. and it's supposed to transition from city to rural and now Dade City has proved almost a thousand homes on that land

7:57that are high density instead of a transition. At one time an application was made for this same area for development called Citrus Ridge. In the meeting on Citrus Ridge between the County and Dade City are a lot of references by both the county and the city to the area as a transition rural area. I know this because I've got copies of Citrus Ridge. I was there also. continuing down Blanton Road toward the interstate, you come in to about four hundred

8:27acres on both sides of Blanton Road. Uh this labeled as Scenic Road and the rural area says the county will protect the view shed, but now we've got solar chain link fences and barbed wire on our scenic road. It must be a joke that this is what the county calls protection. Next we have close to the interstate, which at the beginning was proposed to be a truck stop and became not a truck stop. But the same features on the application

8:58does the truck stop. Now we have another project that doesn't fit into the plan, but we will talk about that later. I just wanted to let y'all know. Some of what the rural hair area has lost and continues to lose till finally there were might not be a northeast rural area plan. We the people keep hoping that the county will give the rural area stronger protections instead of continually taking down taking from the rural area. One other thing to keep in mind is that most

9:28of these applications coming before you are people that want to make money and definitely they should make money, but They also don't care about Pasco County. County.
