Resolution number 21-280, a resolution by the Board of County Commissioners of Pasco County, Florida, congratulating Sam Bennick for receiving the Florida Bicycle Association Professional of the Year 2020 award. Whereas Florida Bicycle Association awards are presented to worthy recipients for their contributions to bicycling, the purpose of the award is to bring attention

29:58to the efforts and achievements of groups, organizations, and individuals that help shape the vision for all Florida bicyclists. To be safe, respected, and encouraged to bicycle for the transport for transportation and recreation. And RAS, the Florida Bicycle Association, recognized Sam Bennick for his involvement as project manager of the Ridge Road Extension Project. And RAS, the Ridge Road Extension Project will include a multi-use path that will connect the Sun Coast Parkway Trail. ANRAS, the Ridge Road Extension Project

30:28will Also provide additional roadway capacity and improved routing away from the coastal hazard areas and improve hurricane evacuation clearance times in the event of a hurricane or other major weather-related occurrence in accordance with state of Florida requirements and Pasco County's current comprehensive plan. And RAS SAM's other projects now being enjoyed by cyclists include the Starkey Gap Trail and the Anclo. Coastal Trail. And RAS, Sam is an avid cyclist and adds this passion to his work

But I've been so impressed with your professionalism and I've really, really enjoyed all the times we've driven around and looked at routes and construction issues. And I just think that you are very well

32:02deserved of this honor. I'm so glad they gave it to you. It's really wonderful when you have someone working on a project who actually is a user of of the type of project you're building. So I think it really helps that Sam is such a big cyclist when he's building these trails and understands, you know,

It's with the some more support of the board, the planning of of the other county employees and uh especially the penny projects, the support of the citizens that we're able to get here.
