R1 clerk's office coronavirus relief funds
What the county recorded
This item is not from the published agenda
It is a stretch of the recording that this archive identified as a separate matter — a call to order, a recess, or something taken up that the agenda does not list. There is no official title, no staff recommendation and no disposition, because the county never recorded one. Everything below is inferred.
The source document
The county’s minutes for Board of County Commissioners, May 19, 2020
The published PDF, as served by the county. This item is one entry in it.
What was said
Machine transcription of 2m of recording, with speaker names inferred from voice matching. 94% of 16 lines carry a name. It shows what was said, not what was decided, and both the words and the names can be wrong.
Yes, sir. This is a uh R1 is a request from the clerk's office, and I was just going to turn it over to the clerk to discuss it.
Thank you. Uh thank you Chairman More and members of the County Commission. This uh R1 is my request to the County on behalf of my office to distribute to the office a portion of the coronavirus relief funds of which the county received, as you know, over 96 million. The US Department of Treasury identified eligible expenses for the use of these funds and some of the eligible expenses I seek this money for is for payroll expenses related
to public safety and human services as a result of COVID 19, personal protection equipment and safeguards to provide for a safe work environment. In my request, I provided the worst case scenario through the end of this calendar year. And There are many unknowns, so projection was difficult, but I am projecting a need for 7.4 million through December 31st, 2020, as worst case scenario with 1.9
million to be paid on or before June first. I have also requested in my letter to have the county administrator provide the additional funds up to a maximum of 7.4 million if needed. And also my office would provide documentation to the county administrator at his request, and any funds not used would be returned. My letter included in the agenda item had additional information and I am happy to
answer any questions or concerns you may have.
Uh thank you Madam Clerk. Any questions at this time for the board?
