School board fee waiver request

What the county recorded

This item is not from the published agenda

It is a stretch of the recording that this archive identified as a separate matter — a call to order, a recess, or something taken up that the agenda does not list. There is no official title, no staff recommendation and no disposition, because the county never recorded one. Everything below is inferred.

Mike Carballa

Yes, Mr. Chair, just uh really two two quick items. Um as we continually uh work to improve the the uh development process, uh we've discovered some gaps between um some of our development practices and actual policies, especially as they relate to the school board. So I'd really like to request two things from the board. Um Number one, that we would like to have some direction from the board to revisit our interlocal with Pasco County School Boards. Especially as they regard school district fees related to development. So in the past we've had a

past practice where we have not charged them fees, but we do not seem to have a policy on file that allows them to be exempt. So in in this particular case, we need to rectify that formally through the interlocal agreement. And then I would also like the board to consider a site plan review fee waiver for the proposed Angeline Elementary and Athletics.

Jack MarianoChair

Okay. Do I have a motion for that? Have a motion. I'll

Seth Weightman

move approval.

Jack MarianoChair

In a second. Uh roll call vote? Mr. Starkey, hang on for one second.

Gary Bradford

We need to

Jack MarianoChair

vote. Just stand right there. Go ahead. Roll call vote?

Kathryn Starkey

Um District One, Commissioner Oakley. District two, Commissioner Weightman.

Seth Weightman

Aye.

Kathryn Starkey

District three, Commissioner Starkey. Aye. Did you pick her up? Can I go? Just for the record, Commissioner Starkey said aye. Commissioner Bradford, uh District Four?

Mike Carballa

Aye.

Kathryn Starkey

District five, Chairman Mariano. Aye.

Mike Carballa

Motion passes. Thank you, sir. Uh the only other thing that I would like to mention is um she was here in the morning but not here anymore. But I'd just like to uh congratulate Margaret Smith, our engineering services director. She is retiring. Uh she's been with us since 2014, has done a phenomenal job. Um her replacement is is on board and being trained. But we just want to congratulate Margaret. She would have killed me if I put a resolution forward for her. So I was hoping to Embarrass her in the morning, but it got away from us. But I would just like to publicly acknowledge her service and thank her.

Jack MarianoChair

Yeah, I wish I'd known. She did a great job for us. Thank you. All right, County Attorney.
