PACE funding agency letter

What the county recorded

This item is not from the published agenda

It is a stretch of the recording that this archive identified as a separate matter — a call to order, a recess, or something taken up that the agenda does not list. There is no official title, no staff recommendation and no disposition, because the county never recorded one. Everything below is inferred.

Mr. Chairman, members of the board, um we had a request from the tax collector to um and I'm not sure whether the board is familiar with this or not, that in December there was a K a bond validation case in Leon County. Tallahassee, um that the court included some language which basically indicated that the Florida PACE funding agency

was Oh governmental entity And created by interlocal agreement and therefore they didn't have to Ask. local governments for permission to operate within their districts. Um that has created a lot of angst through the 67 counties. Uh tax collector is one of those who has some angst about

it. He asked that the county attorney's office write Mr. Moran at the Florida Pays Funding Agency. uh a letter similar to that which was issued by Palm Beach County. Um Mr. Goldstein uh and I have reviewed that letter, have made some David's made some edits to it. Um we would like the board's authority for the county attorney or

the chief assistant to send that letter to the Florida PACE funding agency.

We think are in a local agreement that that the Leon County case didn't didn't change any of the rules. And you've got an interlocal agreement with us and if You're terminating it. then you're not allowed to do business in Pasco County.

But I would like the board's permission to send that letter.
