performance reviews for county administrator and attorney
What the county recorded
This item is not from the published agenda
This archive found it in the recording: a call to order, a recess, or business the board never listed. The county recorded nothing about it, so everything below is our reading.

Yes, one thing. So with the 10 with the 10-budget and 10-1 start date inst instruction, I've talked to the administrator and county attorney about this. I think we need to m you know
we're a two point four billion dollar organization and this board has uh you know essentially two direct employees, county administrator and county attorney. We have new county attorney and you know hopefully to see you know, some great progress Moving forward and streamlining everything that needs done within the county attorney's office. I think I'd like this board to consider having annual performance reviews in a more in a formal fashion
for the county administrator and the county attorney. and develop something in in um maybe in Q, but make it make it an actual policy so no matter who's on the board that the administrator and the and the attorney have a have a formal annual review process. And then as we figure out what we're measuring for the performance reviews. Give each department time top three things, type five things that we're measuring off of to
go through the reviews and then with their compensation packages and that sort of thing. So an organization this size, I think it'd be appropriate for this board to actually have a more formal process. And it be codified in in rule that we we do that. So I I bring that up to see what everybody thinks.
We used to
start.
We used to do that. Um, but I haven't done a performance in a decade.
That's we did it at uh Bay Water did that. Yeah. Yes. Yeah. Same on you. Chair. Uh point of order? Yeah. Are
we gonna follow these rules or not? I just wanna know. What are we gonna do? We're just gonna talk through what
He's hidden behind Seth. I understand what's going on.
Usually right in me, easy to
Smash Rog Mishorim. The Matt can mean it m mean. But the water management district when I was on the water ma governing board there's an annual performance review process and a a form that the board each board member fills out but it's done annually and it's and there's metrics tied to it, the executive director's raise or what have you. It's it's a very formal process and I feel that that we need to do this do this here, especially as the county grows, the government grows and you know it becomes
a more uh corporate style professional organization and uh there's accountability on the elected body and there should be uh a formal accountability measure to its two designated uh hires.
Mr.
Yeah.
Um I want to say we did that in the school board as well. Yeah. Like so and it was very effective and I think it's a great idea. So I'm all for it. Yeah.
And I'll agree too, Regional Planning Council does it. Um so I think it's it's a it's a nice easy measure. If we can compare what the other counties do might make it easier and reinvent the wheel. So maybe bring those back to us, take a look at it. Yeah. With the else, Commissioner Weightman that's it. Thank you. Mr. Stark.
