Hudson Beach parking, sewer funding, appointments
What the county recorded
This item is not from the published agenda
This archive found it in the recording: a call to order, a recess, or business the board never listed. The county recorded nothing about it, so everything below is our reading.

I don't know, Jeannie, do you have any pictures for me? Okay. Uh this past week at Hudson Beach they had a big uh Halloween type thing over the weekend. And uh we had been working with trying to get some more parking out at Hudson Beach and along Cricket right along Clark Street uh they put out about three hundred feet worth of spaces, enough for about thirty golf carts, and that it got started to get used. used. Uh we may need some tweaking with some tree removal, whatever, but um it's a great s great start to to get going to
alleviate some of the private traffic trouble. Um I would like to say Mike, I would like us to go take a look at the C D B G DR State grant funds as well, if there's anything available too for the accepting the sewer that sea pines projects coming forward.
We normally would get stormwater help from that. We're not getting that from the State and we also using our own DR money. It might be something good to try to try to look at the tag on too.
Uh now I'm r remembering I don't think we can apply since we got on a direct allocation. Is that right, Joseph? Or Brantford?
I'll confirm that with Chuck Lane. He would be
the guy that would be.
And so if there's any other projects within FGUA, We sh 'cause we should be going after it so that we don't have to pay for it when but I'm pretty I think that's what
I scratched it.
Well let me verify.
But I still I still would like to work with that company if they know how to find money.
Um all right and uh there's a there was a food pantry that was over in Old Dixie and moved over to Five A Road. Uh and now I'm seeing a lot of homeless with their bikes. I've seen 'em on the street. Kathy's had the group out there, David's had the group out there to get 'em off the street, off the sidewalk. Uh but I saw him like tracking down. So I think the camp's probably growing down the street on Cricket Street, probably over by Five A High School, which is not safe for our kids anyway that have to walk to school there. Uh and that and I hear Kent
Grove has actually got some more stuff coming in there. So we can take a look at that. And uh I was at a uh a function over at Cypress Creek Elementary. It was an Indian group that had a religious celebration that was really, really impressive. And they've talked and I've talked with Keith about working with uh the Winfield area to build a big cricket field. some things around it. So I told them to reapproach with um with the team about doing an unslip unsliffe proposal again to try to
make bring that forward. But they could put a nice park out there would take more stress off Wesley Chapel as well and create something that they could be pretty special. They had probably businesses that took up half the auditorium. Really, really neat. It was packed and really really they they were having a good time. I didn't take pictures 'cause it was religious so I didn't wanna offend anybody, but they were taking pictures, so And that's all I have, so we'll be adjourned. Thank you. Oh, I got one more thing. Bold that back. Um I wanna uh if I
could get a motion for somebody to re renominate Pascal Collard um from the Mart Martugalu, the old Zephyrhills Tennis Academy. Uh I'm gonna back to the T D C
Um
Have a motion. Have a second.
Yeah, second.
I no you made the motion. Yeah. I need a I need a second. Okay. I'm sorry I didn't hear it. All right. All in favor say aye. Aye. Aye. Aye. And did you want to add something else?
Um well I got a letter, and I'm not sure if everyone else got a letter that um one of our planning commissioners Re resigned from the Planning Commission?
Chris Poole.
Yeah, is he my appointee? Because he lives at Land O' Lakeshore to me. I thought Jamie Girardi was my appointee. We all got the letter. Yeah, I got it
too.
Okay, so whose guy was he? Might be yours.
I thought I I thought I had Derek Brockley.
So we need to see see whose that is and um see 'cause we need to reappoint someone. And
If someone here needs to do that.
And I think Chuck Ray, who's now just retired, We're gonna have to look at that appointment as well.
Wait, did he le he leave the planning commission?
I think he's retiring, isn't he? David?
We're aware of Mr. Poole's uh retirement from the Planning Commission, which will take effect January one. The next Planning uh Commission meeting we'll bring it up and uh have a path forward and we'll find out who the sponsoring commissioner is for that seat. Uh Mr. Gray, there's no indication he's retiring from the I I got repeated.
We have some work, but not from the plan.
Okay.
Very good.
