Several speakers Kathryn Starkey: That's that's what I'm gonna do. The vision is supposed to look like that. Is that right? That's the cover of of the connected city. Documents. Comprehensive plan. Is that what we're getting?
- R31Connected City, Village of Pasadena Hills, and Pasco 2050 Discussion
Unidentified speaker Good morning commissioners. Good morning everyone. Um I guess I drew the lucky straw here. I'm honored to be here to represent everyone That's part of the connected city planning area that was connected uh that was created a long long time back and the conversation started obviously with the chatter online I think discussions and Staff said, Hey, why did we even create Connected City? This was ten years back. Maybe just time to go back and see what was the goal, what were we trying to do? And more importantly, was it a good idea? All along. I don't know. I don't have all the answers. Um So I'm going to do my best to walk you through the journey we went on ten years back and the thinking behind it. So it it was year 2014 how it started. If you all kind of look at the map, this connected city in the area to I-75 is

- Connected City multifamily entitlements review
Unidentified speaker I was involved with Connected City from the beginning. I don't know if uh David Goldstein would like to speak to this piece as well, but uh the design of this uh it's not so much village oriented uh like Pasina Hills is this is this is a very Specific design that is very high density along I-75 in this area. The intent is vertical. There's the urban core. That intent is vertical. So multifamily units of a vertical nature are really necessary here to achieve those densities and get that pattern. The lower density piece is the piece over towards Curly Road as you go out towards V OPH. Towards that more village concept area. The intent was to blend it across and have the business core, the urban core, all of those pieces be the higher density, higher intensity areas. The second piece of that puzzle is that Connected City is its own special dependent district. It's actually based on its own financial plan. And
- Connected City traffic circles and intersections
Kathryn Starkey adjourn? I do have a question um just on the and I've been looking at the connected city plan. And um I know this was done before we were doing the um traffic circles. And I see all kinds of intersections within Connected City. Are there traf are they traffic circles or are they lights?

David Engel Good morning, Madam Chair. How are you today? My name is David Engel. I am the Planning and Economic Development Director. We have a very timely informational presentation today for through a variety of topics. For the purpose of time management, I just wanted to review them with the board, let them know what's going to be coming up and who's going to be speaking. We're talking about Connected City, V OPH, and the mobility fee study and the PASCO 2050 discussion. It's our intention to spend the predominant amount of time for this agenda item to focus on Connected City. What we're going to do is we're going to invite Metro Development up here for a very brief presentation because they are the largest developer at this time within Connect. Connected City. Then Mr. William Vermilion, he's our MPUD Senior Planner Lead. He's going to provide a report card as to where we stand with Connected City deliverables. We're going to have particular emphasis on the entitlement study because there's been a lot of questions on entitlements, the parts
