    Starkey affordable housing. We're here and ready to pitch in. And um I had mentioned that to Kartik. and I just haven't followed up with him yet. But he was very interested in hearing that. So we can work with you to buy down the cost of of some homes in your neighborhood. and get a at least a couple of 'em. Affordable.

    Starkey future affordable housing that we need to stipulate that it's Pasco residents who are getting that affordable housing, not people coming up from another county. So I I really like that idea. So I would like to go back to you and say on residential properties In the neighborhoods that are suitable, we should just offer these. Um For zero to a a a non profit building a house because if we You know, we have this opportunity in holiday. We have Um We have Metropolitan Ministries building their Family homeless shelter. And then we have Dominium. Building The affordable housing project by Enclode High School. Sixty percent AMI. And then we have AMP skills that can help these people get a good job and and Metropolitan ministries is also putting their commercial kitchen back in. So people can get um certifications in culinary, and they're also gonna be teaching people how to get Um licenses for day care. I mean we have this really cool ecosystem coming where people can Who were homeless, can go live somewhere for a few years, save up some money, get a job, qualify for a habitat or some what are the other organizations that build um t you know, to to build this community and I just wanna say

    Starkey Yeah. So um I mean uh a starting a starting teacher isn't gonna be able to afford any of these, sadly. And we're working we're working on um projects and Um I There is there are some creative way y you guys remember when we had D R I's And I think ten percent of a DRI had to have a workforce housing or what what's the right term? Affordable. Affordable housing component, right? Um and that that went away and I know there's there are counties that are um started putting some of that back into some of their rules. Palm Beach County, for example, has put it back in and others have too that If you build X amount of houses, a certain percentage has to be um work affordable. I I'm very used to saying workforce housing. That's what we say in my my committee at NACO. And I've talked with Marcy. Marcy So our community development has a lot of money to help. with those kind that kind of housing. and would love to work with you guys if you would in any one of your neighborhoods consider Um putting a couple of your houses into A pot that could qualify for

    Starkey So, you know, there's affordable housing and there's workforce housing and they're not necessarily the same thing. Um because really workforce housing comes with federal grants and tax abatements and incentives and And um you know wage restrictions.
