Children have aged out of foster care or H um have

5:52:35a duc uh or addiction recovery? They can be nominated through any of the organizations. Next we have the Moonlight Cleanup. I don't like to thank all the staff. And everyone else that think it came out that day, the citizens of Moon Lake. And if you want to scroll through some of the pictures, I believe we had Ninety nine point one seven tons, which was two point seven seven tons more than last year,

So I started at Wendixie and moved over to the park and then Miss Lori from Trinity actually came out and she helped me clean up her and I cleaned up all of Sinoco for about two and a half hours and started down Bamberry. And I must say I've driven back by Sinoco And they have been keeping up with the area, which is very nice to see, especially since

We had Doctor Blanco, he's a vegetari veterinarian and a dairy farmer, and he has property over at The Sun Coast Parkway. and deputy Taktuk and Clotyr had

5:56:25noticed that they had someone had cut through his gate over out by the Sun Coast and that could have been very dangerous if the animals were able to get out into the roads. So they actually changed where they t completed their reports. So they could watch to make sure that none of the animals would come out on the roads? And then

5:56:50Lastly, Sheriff Knockle also did a on Thursday. They fed over four hundred and fourteen families. They had thirty-three pallets of food and seven hundred boxes of food was distributed on Thursday. Thank you. That's it.

5:57:05Mr. Mariano? Thank you, Mr. Chairman. I had a long presentation about uh a property we've been having trouble with uh code enforcement. Um Alex, I know you've been here all day, but if I could just say I would like to have the Sheriff's Department Code Enforcement work with the attorney's office in trapping uh and improving our ordinance. Um I don't know if I I I could skip the presentation.

5:57:26Commissioner O I have the same problem uh it's actually on land the county owns, um, where we just put the trail in at Coastal Enclope Park. We have had um people come in and set up camp for the weekends and have motocross tournaments out there behind Key Vista. And until we get some programming on that property, the sheriff is out there all the time. We cannot it's almost impossible to keep the people out. It's tough.

5:57:53You also have to have uh owners of the property have to be willing to That's

5:57:58us.

5:57:59Uh well that one but I got the one over on the east side of the county that m there are many owners on this property that give out leases for people to ride on these and there's no way That they can stop at one of the parking areas I had to own a agreeing to Tres pass people? And in fact when the first one came up to him they said, No, I won't do it. So it just killed it. So I mean you You gotta have corporation out of your citizens at the same time.

5:58:29Yes, you do. And I tell you that this one on Coyote, the the landowner is trying to cooperate. She's actually done a lot of things to help us. So it's not like she's not even cooperating. They're they're trying to help but they j we just need to go be able to do that. It's on their property. And the people who are fighting the property are being threatened, hassled. Uh it's just it's not and and just I mean these things can run until six in the morning.

5:58:50I did suggest to the um I responded to the attorney the email that we got that um In the you know, we have parks and property where the landowner or the school district or whomever donates property for a trailer to be put on there and I suggested they see if they can get uh a deputy that would be interested in living on the property. To help help

5:59:16And oh they did? Oh, because he said he was gonna ask. Yeah, th that that's just not right what's going on there.

5:59:22Who owns the property? Just not everybody?

5:59:26This is a this is a large piece of property, so it's gonna take a lot of effort, but but uh but again I think we need to look at our ordinances and

5:59:33this one's a private landowner to answer to answer your question.

5:59:36Is there anywhere in the county for them to go? So they would stop choosing their own areas?

5:59:47If they get arrested on that property, could it be that they lose their vehicle? You know how how the laws with the gun on someone else's property?

5:59:54Well, are there no trespassing signs? I would assume. There are. But and they just tear 'em down and

6:00:01Yeah, this commissioner Mariano. This commission this this property owner's done a lot and actually worked with the sheriff to do a lot of stuff on this property

6:00:07and they're still having an issue. And th th that's why they want to we want to get everybody together just try to try to like what do we need to do to change the ordinance? It may not work everywhere, but let's go find out, put our heads together and go to the right-of-way. What

6:00:19Is there a place where they can go ride their ATVs or their vehicle? That's a problem. Well if we can redirect them to go a specific place and they wanna be tearing up Private. Citizens yards. And lots.

So part of the reason that I wanted the Commissioner to bring this up is I've heard various sentiments from various board members, but The problem is this is a state law trespass issue. Mm-hmm. And I'm not sure that anything we write is going to make it any better. I mean 'cause If it's state fall that goes. We can't get their attention with criminal trespass.

6:01:38And uh I'm not sure that you by you adopting another ordinance It's gonna do anything. Other than we're gonna go through the through the process and it's gonna take a while and

6:02:04like I said, uh I I'll be happy to to meet with Ms. Moore at the sheriff's office or the sheriff himself and see if they have ideas about what we can do. But I'm telling you it's it th you know i it looks l It looks like it's a if it if The statutes aren't getting their attention. I'm not sure that an ordinance will, but

6:02:30maybe we need to be meeting with our legislators and talking to them about putting more teeth into the statutes they have written.

6:02:37Yeah, maybe maybe like taking a vehicle away or something might

6:02:42Maybe we'll get some Alex? Maybe we'll get maybe I'll get our state legislators involved too. Put them in the meeting and and talk it through. Yeah. So we look at it comprehensive plan what can we do, what what we what we think might work. I mean Al Alex, you guys have been out there doing a great job. Trying, trying, trying. So I know it's just it's just tough. And our code guys too, but it's just tough to get it done. So let's put our heads together and make it all work.

Uh so looks like some of that stuff is not gonna be legal even on a county park. Uh but uh Croom, if you've ever been to Croom in Hernando County, I go up there mountain biking. Um and um they have places where people can go ride their ATVs and their mo their mountain bikes and they and horses and it's all in one big park. If the county

6:03:59had some place where people could go do that, it might cut some of this down.
