Clerk Valentine's ceremony passport services

What the county recorded

This item is not from the published agenda

It is a stretch of the recording that this archive identified as a separate matter — a call to order, a recess, or something taken up that the agenda does not list. There is no official title, no staff recommendation and no outcome, because the county never recorded one. Everything below is inferred.

Yes, sir. Thank you. Um so Clerk Alvarez Soles is uh at a clerk conference on the other side of the state. So that's you get me today. Um but I did want to mention two things. One, um we did um hold the Valentine's Day ceremony and it was beautiful. I don't think we could have ordered better weather. It was absolutely wonderful. Wanna thank Commissioner Oakley for stopping by and saying hi. We um uh eighteen couples, sixteen couples got married that day, two renewed their vows. So it's

very nice. Um and then um also in the theme of tourism Um uh passports are hot. So pre COVID um we issued about a hundred and seventy five passports a week. We are um averaging about 400 a week now. Wow. Um record breaking this last Friday. We did 166 in one day. And um I mean we do a whole lot of other things. Passports just like this extra

thing we do and it's been busy. Um so it's perfect timing to um uh we have a passport Saturday that we typically do right around spring break. So So March 4th is Passport Saturday. We'll be open in both of the government centers from 9 to 1 for any citizens that want to come in on a Saturday and not have to take time off during the week. It's first time passports or if your passport's been expired fifteen or

more years, um it are we're able to handle the passport agency doesn't let us, you know, do renewals. You s work directly with them, but um you can the citizens can get their passport photos directly. We take care of that too if they wanna come get that. So that's all I got.
