Starkey Okay, so um uh I have a number of things here but I'm gonna skip most of them. I'm gonna um I was gonna bring up the rabbits, but I'm glad you did. I just wanted to tell you I had a conversation with the school district, uh uh administration about the penny for Pasco. And um I don't know if you got it. I've got the timeline from last time we did the penny for Pasco. So I'm gonna make sure you all get this and um we'll discuss it further in the January meeting, but it's time to get moving on um our plans for the next penny. Okay. Yeah,
Starkey Yeah, and this year the Cinderella Ball. uh which is the big fundraiser for the Pasco Education Foundation. We were in Tampa. We were at the J C C you know, in South Tampa, so Um We we need something, but I'm ex I was wanting to act on this guy's problem. So we'll get together.
Starkey Yeah, so last night I passed by um Golf High School. And the uh elementary school, I can't remember which one it what is is it Ritchie Elementary which is the one out there by the hospital? Yeah, so I I passed by um the schools that one that was renovated and one that is being renovated. And Um it's it's just such a good feeling to drive by those schools and see them getting updated like that. part of the school district money has gone to is renovating those schools. And of course, y'all know I love my trails. And um the enjoyment that and and the relief that our county got during COVID to be able to get out on those Penny for Pasco funded trails. was Immense. I mean we had people coming here from other counties to be able to get out and and recreate um freely and safely. And of course transportation. And the uh the improvements
Starkey to Tampa. Now i i When I saw that picture of Saint Leo and I went v you know, I went to that um for a little bit. Uh what was that event that was there? Gropasco. Yeah, Gro Pasco. Would they let this gentleman use that space? 'Cause th I think that might fit.
Starkey Nice. Anyone else? Yeah. Okay, I left out economic development. I don't want Dave Engel to I'm sorry, David. And we love our economic development money and Bill Crown it. And we they've done wonderful things with it.
Starkey Um Ray, I'm really happy to sponsor this and surprise you with this. And um you know the very first time I met you was actually in this room. When you were working on the penny for Pasco. And um I don't know if you remember that, but I remember that. And Um I got to uh get to know you better when I was on the school board and I I called Ray um my handler.
Starkey There was on on that one, you know, there was a lot of chat online that sadly was on one of those chat lines. Yeah. And um a lot of people commenting that they went and applied and ha you know, are hoping So it it was a very positive uh response from our public, I think.
Starkey On the same vein I would say there are Um I have brought up numerous road con connections that I think need to be made. Um there's a very small one in my district by um Uh where we bought just bought that new parcel. Um Uh Lake was the Oaks at Riverside? Oaks at Riverside? There's a very small strip that the developer said he would
Starkey And he's already a Pasco resident. And so um And as uh as most people know, Jenny um worked here uh and helped us um helped us as we work to improve our county and build our county. So it's a it's a very committed family to Pasco County and I'm very excited for what the future holds and we welcome you here and I second the motion. Thank you, Commissioner. Thank

Um It's really uh an honor to be sponsoring this resolution and I know all of you and know uh all the hard work you did to uh make this come to fruition and I don't think the citizens of Pasco County can truly appreciate how important this is for all of us, for the school district, for the cities, for the county. Um the work that's done with this money. Definitely uh highly increases our quality of life and we are just so grateful that you private citizens stepped up and um and helped make this such a great success. Starkey two calls for the International Economic Development Council of NACO. The second one was on data centers and it was uh a commissioner from Loudoun County, Virginia. They have two hundred data centers and a hundred and seventeen more in the pipeline.
