Starkey So I um I have been working with Marcy and the um and Terry Pitos and others talking about um affordable housing and accessory dwelling units and other things and how we can kind of um move this forward and what are other counties doing to try and um stave off a housing crisis in um We decided um in a group phone conversation last week that this was best done in a in a an affordable housing workshop. So that um The What's going on can be articulated to all the commissioners and if we need to do some policy changes or we have some ideas. I have one concerning accessory dwelling units that we could um uh get those things um worked out. I'm just wondering if anyone else has anything they would like to discuss so that we can just Maybe have one and tackle a few items. We have the budget

- P35An Ordinance by the Pasco County Board of County Commissioners Amending Ordinance No. 21-08 to Expand the Moratorium Area; Providing for Authority; Legislative Findings of Fact; Moratorium Area; Temporary Moratorium Imposed; and Severability.
Oakley Right. The problem with this issue and and we've seen it grow pretty good is not affordable housing because these houses, these apartments are renting for $2,000, $2,200 a month. That's not affordable housing for people. We do need affordable housing in our county. Um but some of this housing is is not for jobs in our county, but for jobs in other counties nearby. And so we need to focus on jobs in our county and housing in our county. And because of this moratorium, We've had other areas of the county. that have come up with some multifamily uh projects. that wouldn't have come up if this was still open and they could come here. But it's in other areas of our county that we're going to get some of the uh multifamily housing up.

Several speakers So there are some recommendations that have come out of our gaps analysis and uh I I want to mention those uh for individual homelessness to increase the uh resources. For individuals, for housing single adults. For chronic homelessness, dedicate permanent supportive housing to individuals and ensure that there are supportive services and deeply affordable housing. Decrease the number, the length of time for people that are experiencing homelessness, and especially. Uh the study found that the longest path to housing was for those that were in shelters. So we want to make sure that our shelters become housing focused and housing first. And then going on to domestic violence, it's increasing around the country to make sure that there's resources. And we did just receive a grant. for over three hundred thousand dollars for domestic violence programs and um affordable housing we will be using the home ARP funding for uh affordable housing initiatives for the homeless. So that does conclude the presentation and Don and I are happy to answer any questions.
