Several speakers CDBG funding. On our next slide, this is our ESG or our homeless funding for emergency shelter. We are going to recommend funding ACE Opportunities, Catholic Charities, Salvation Army, and Sunrise of Pasco County. The last two, Sunrise and Salvation Army, are our shelters for people that experience domestic violence. For homeless prevention, new to us is Fresh Start of PASCO and One Community Now. And then our Coalition for the Homeless manages our HMIS or Homeless Management Information System. Last but not least, we have our home funding recommendations, which again is to go vertical with housing, affordable housing. We have a small project to convert septic to SUR for a residential care facility. Working again this year, we did it last year, and we're doing it again this year. Reroofing 11 buildings for the Pasco County House. housing authority in two different places of theirs and then tenant-based rental assistance and we're bringing on a new agency, Westcare, as well as continuing with the Coalition for the Homeless. So those are our recommendations. Uh do we next slide?

Fitzpatrick Thank you. Um I would like to say I was honored to t attend the Rosalie Residence Blessing and Ribbon Cutting. Pasco County and Saint Vincent de Paul Kerris has a very strong partnership to try to end homelessness and provide affordable and permanent supportive housing for Pasco County. And since last year, since March of last year up until now, we've been able to house 191 households. So I feel it's really important that we work continue to work together. They have an eighty-five percent positivity rate to end homelessness and not to go back into homelessness. And then last also in the past nine months, Saint Vincent de Paul Cares has already ended homelessness with Pasco County of 270 267 households. So I think that's a phenomenal job and And I would love to continue to work together to end homelessness in Pasco County. Um Also, with it being back to school, I've been attending multiple backpack drives. I was out to help
Mariano There are some I think that need to be done. I mean there's so there's actually a one disaster that actually happened was some family actually drove into one of those camps, drove their car there. And they burnt the car down on the people. They had they were homeless folks. They drove into the camp and those homeless people burnt down their car. car. That's still there right now.

Fitzpatrick Back to this morning with David Lambert and everyone. Someone had reached out to me that they were about to be homeless in the next couple days. I had given them the phone number for the housing authority, so on a bright side, they were able to get the assistance and It helped them in their interim, so now they're actually being able to purchase their own home. So it's always nice to have a positive ending. So thank you. That's it.

Uh Congressman Bill Arrakis, which Premier doesn't know this yet, has reached out to me and asked if we would consider putting a commun a federally qualified health center, Premier, and expansion in there. We are looking at that. Um This is a uh big boom for our community and will really go a long way to help with combating homelessness uh as well, especially uh this is a veterans family housing community, which is one that we desperately need within this county and it will help with uh some of the homelessness along the nineteen corridor. Several speakers Good morning. Commissioner Oak Marcy Esperg, Director of Community Development. Pasco County, I I feel like we've got a few minutes of feel good. So this is a feel good presentation following the money. So you get money, you spend money. That's the the the law of life, right? So I'm here today to talk about um a new housing project that's coming up. And it is with the Pasco County Housing Authority called Magnolia Oaks in Newport Ritchie. So as we go into the next slide, you'll see that this project will consist of 77 units. New construction rental units, and therefore very low and low-income persons, primarily homeless veterans and families, and non-elderly disabled and families. So when we break down the project, you see that we're going to have 40 units that are dedicated to our homeless veterans. 37 units for the non-elderly disabled who are either transitioning out of institutional or segregated settings at serious risk of institutionalization. They might be currently experiencing homelessness. previously experienced homelessness or they're at
Starkey and and in driving around with with my staff in my district. Every intersection on nineteen had someone in the middle walking down the lanes. Panhandling, every single one. And then we drove on a private road behind the speedway. Homeless people we watch someone hitting up. With a a needle, that's the right word. Um homeless people, furniture, everything behind the speedway. Actually chased down a deputy to ask him to go a victim 'cause there's a no trespassing sign. Fitzpatrick Um I was I had gone on a ride along with um, Chief Case and and w driving down Green Key Road, I did notice there was a home and it was completely surrounded by water. They couldn't even get to their home without being able to walk through the water. And with public services um I applaud them on going out working into the field because I did go to the Rosalie project and they when they were out and helping and feeding the homeless, they were able to house some of those homeless people.
