- County administrator resignation and search process
Kathryn Starkey people say they don't really search, they just kinda broadcast the opening and then people kinda flock in and I kinda agree with that. So no matter who we use, I think the process can be somewhat similar. So I'm just going for speed here.
- Commissioner reports on community events and tours
Kathryn Starkey Oh what I what I was wondering on that, if they're hanging out under our under the Sun Coast Bridges um and doing illicit activity, why don't we see if we can't put some cameras under there? And then we could have an eye on it and then maybe send law enforcement if we need to. But certainly we could have some some game some cameras under those bridges.
- Flock camera discussion and sheriff's office presentation
Kathryn Starkey No, I I I had a uh meeting with the Sheriff's Office yesterday and I'm confident that we are protecting our public's uh identity and They keep the data for thirty days. If you want, you can have Chase come up. Yeah, that's what I'm gonna say. Can Chase come up?
- P50Conditional Use Request (Regular) – Nikki Clemente and Michael Rutman – Approval of a Vacation Rental/Short Term Rental in a R-4 High Density Residential District – Northwest Pasco County – West Side of Birch Street, approximately 600 Feet North of Port Hudson Boulevard – Containing Approximately 0.11 Acre File Number PDD23-CU09
Kathryn Starkey and I don't know if the county attorney has the answer to this, and I would ask this homeowner I I know you can't put cameras in bedrooms and things, but it seems to me that you should be able to put We have 'em in our house um to to be on our boat at Gulf Harbor so I have 'em in both houses. I have a a camera that shows if someone comes in my front door. And I I have a camera. that i i is going out on my dock and my boat. And so You should be able to see if there's inappropriate activity going on and maybe kind of self-regulate. And and in my mind if if there is Um, you know, three strikes you're out and you lose your ability to be a short term rental. I I think makes more sense than Um than the pro the program that we have now. Because right now we have no No enforcement of anything. And it's a just a free for all. So
- R77A Resolution By The Board of County Commissioners of Pasco County, Florida Establishing The Terms, Composition, Membership, And Quorum Requirements For The “Pasco County Opioid Task Force,” And Designating The Chair And Vice-Chair For The Task Force.
Kathryn Starkey Okay, so Listen, if Commissioner Fitzpatrick wants to do be on there, I'm okay with that. My my plate is very, very full. And when you get when your plate's too full, everything's Everything you're working on gets doesn't get done well. Uh Um
- Commissioner Starkey Lake Como PVAS and liquor licenses
Kathryn Starkey Yeah, I did notice once again we are um approving um liquor licenses and I just wondered if we have any update on when that won't need to come to the board unless it's unless there's an objection.
- Board member reports on county issues
Kathryn Starkey I and I I just can't imagine that that is built legally. I hope it's not. I I I mean I hope that we require more than that in our landscape code. Um I wanted to talk to y'all about um red light cameras and school zones. Um maybe some of you have also talked to people about this. Um Hillsboro County just passed an ordinance um that will suspend uh wait, well wait I wanna talk about that ordinance yet. Last year the legislat I think it was last year approved the ability to put red light cameras in school zones. And I don't want them all around that county like they have in Newport, Richie, and other places. But I I am Um considering and would like to t us to have discussion if we think red light cameras are appropriate in a school zone. People frequently zoom in those those areas and it's very I mean go fast.
- R-58 school zone speed cameras and safety systems
Kathryn Starkey And I I think that our legislature who passed the language to allow this to happen went through all of this 'Cause and I think this passed quite with very high numbers. Do you know the numbers in Tallahassee?
- R-58 school zone speed cameras and safety systems
Kathryn Starkey I'm gonna echo everything that Commission Commissioner Yeager Yeager said. I I think it's the ticket that's gonna change the behavior and if I would not be for them anywhere else in the county. Um but I am a hundred percent for them in school zones. And my understanding is once they start giving the tickets the speeding starts dropping drastically. Drastically. So Um and as far as Mitty P. Lock, I I've called I've called the school district on that one because There is no school at Mini Pilock anymore. I
- R-58 school zone speed cameras and safety systems
Kathryn Starkey Um one uh a nice second that I do have a question. What what are the lengths of these contracts? So if we decide it isn't working for us, can we cancel the contract? So are are are they? I think you could
- Public comment on cameras, ordinances, and ag lands
Kathryn Starkey It looks like you're off of mute. Can you please um state your name and address for the record? So Mr. Church Fire, we are not hearing you. And your box is not lighting up when you're if you're talking? Mr. Churchfire, we are not hearing you.
- R-58 school zone speed cameras and safety systems
Kathryn Starkey In the central happening, and then um to do okay. And a regular item we haven't gotten to yet, right? So I don't know if you want to do it now or later. Harold's gonna be here this afternoon. We have a statewide meeting I have to jump on.
