Oakley I actually We think it's a great thing that we can locate people that abduct children and others right away or some accident or some problems. Uh it helps take those bad people off the road.
Oakley I think we need to wait and read that contract and and uh do a little further research of that. I ha I trust the Sheriff's Office, but I'd like to see some of that.
Oakley Okay, I I pulled this item because uh I was thinking it dealt with some issues with um With some of the cameras and all we have here at this courthouse. and uh was concerned about that if we were approving Because it's been an ongoing issue for a while. And I was just wondering if that had to do with those cameras here or if it was some other issue.
Oakley the ticket has to be included in the program to make it work right because they They need to be noticed and then hopefully they don't do it again. That'll slow 'em down. Yeah. But that that's enough Think y'all have a program that has ticketing in it.
Oakley county will be receiving 12,400 about a little bit over that from that one event. to help individuals get back on their feet. We waived over $9,600. Um we had a total of uh 216 cases paid in full, which is great for our judicial system, and also twenty-two cases went onto a payment plan. We had 120 cases that were pulled from collections and from the event at the event um we were able to reinstate ten driver's licenses and then we were able to issue um licenses that are eligible for reinstatement they'd have to go to um Mr. Fazano's office to finalize that, but that was 288 of those licenses are now eligible for reinstatement. So we have like 300 new drivers back on the road, which is a great event for us and our community. The other item that I wanted
Oakley Thank you, Mr. Chair. I do have um two short updates. Um earlier this month we held our driver's license reinstatement event. Um that is where individuals that um have a suspended driver's license due to um delinquent fines or fees for court cases such as traffic infractions, criminal traffic, misdemeanor. And felony cases, that they can renew their license and we try to help them get to get to be able to do that. We call the event our Operation Green Light to help them get back on the road. And it was held earlier this month. We held it on Wednesday, March 3rd through Saturday, March 6th. I think it was a very successful event. Total revenue that we were able to collect during the event was over 72,500. That money is dispersed to 72 different entities. The county does get a portion of that, and the
Oakley Yeah. Commissioner Oakley. Yeah. I came here today with reservations about this project 'cause it seemed like in counties near us our neighboring counties were s saying their people are all upset, getting tickets, this and that. And then f I think about it further and I said well The reason they're upset is they're speeding in the school zone.
Oakley Well, You told me that there's two different programs. There's one where you don't get ticketed at all and then there's one where you do get a ticket. And the counties I've heard of, there are neighboring counties that have the issue Or being ticketed because there's a lot of outcry. The public, citizens. Well, The problem I have with them, you really think about it, they're upset because they got a ticket, but they're also the person that's breaking the law of speeding in the school zone.
Oakley Second. Got a motion and second. All those in favor say aye. Aye. Aye. Motion passed. Thank you. Thank you. That concludes the consent agenda. We will move on to uh believe it or not, regular items before noon. Oh wait a minute, what we got? Oh we
