Weightman taxes, I'm paying for stormwater, I'm paying for all these things, and yet my life and our quality of life doesn't work. I'm also talking with a lot of residents who are telling me, I can't stay here anymore. I just can't. I can't afford it. I can't get here. So on top of that, we've also seen a lot of our um housing prices for affordable housing skyrocket. Uh our median house price is $369,000. People can't afford that as affordable housing, so they can't live in our county. They work in our county, but they can't afford to live here, which means they aren't part of our community. And that's wrong. So as you I know you're not going to be able to do much today because you've already been through so much of the process, but As you move forward, I hope you'll stop and think about where the money is being spent and what you're hearing from people as to what they really need. What they really want. because we aren't meeting that need. Thanks.

Starkey Well I have some questions if we're doing them now. And then Mr. Two can answer them too. Um first of all, I know it's too late for this, but I gotta tell you this commissioner has a problem that we're I know that we're saying nope, you don't have to do affordable housing. It used to be when you had a DRI I think ten percent of the housing um in a large community had to be affordable. And now we don't require it anymore. Do we collect any money to go into affordable housing pot? Somewhere? I mean Uh that's gonna be a problem that we don't have that kind of housing around the county. Um you see that in Monroe County where the property values got so high, all the teachers have to live in Dade County and they get bust in. I mean we need to have workforce housing. And um and that's not the same as an apartment, because many of those apartments, they can't afford to live in those apartments. Um my next question is uh dividing up the entitlements. Are

Oakley Right. The problem with this issue and and we've seen it grow pretty good is not affordable housing because these houses, these apartments are renting for $2,000, $2,200 a month. That's not affordable housing for people. We do need affordable housing in our county. Um but some of this housing is is not for jobs in our county, but for jobs in other counties nearby. And so we need to focus on jobs in our county and housing in our county. And because of this moratorium, We've had other areas of the county. that have come up with some multifamily uh projects. that wouldn't have come up if this was still open and they could come here. But it's in other areas of our county that we're going to get some of the uh multifamily housing up.
- P77Resolution Identifying an Inventory List of Properties Appropriate for Affordable Housing – Senate Bill 102, Live Local Act - No Funding Required
Andrew Baxter publication, yes. So this is uh i in compliance with uh Senate Bill one oh two and state statute one twenty five three seventy nine dot one. For the Live Local Act, it requires the county uh and the Board of County Commissioners to approve a list of Lands that the county holds, be simple. that may be appropriate for affordable housing. And so we have produced that list. of twenty-seven properties that is attached. And this list then will be published on the county website and will be uh able to be modified by the county administrator or designee going forward. Um and then will be brought to the board every three years per state statute.

Katessa Archer to be able to be introduced to the school district as an opportunity to utilize surplus land that was available that had previously been under contract multiple times and wasn't successful for an overall development. And we came in and were able to propose some much needed affordable housing. So, one thing that Hyatt pointed out, but I'll just go quickly through our proposal. We are proposing a 228-unit multifamily project that will be 100% affordable for folks who earn at or below 60% of AMI. Specifically, Dominium and us as a company, we are not only a developer and owner of affordable housing, we also operate our device. Developments. So one thing I really like to stress as a part of these conversations are we are we understand the reputation you know surrounding affordable housing and we understand the reputation of ourselves in relation to the type of housing that we provide. But the best way to see how our projects really exist and coexist over the term of the project is is over the 15 to 30

Several speakers Unidentified A: Well are we talking about delaying the impact fee or the affordable housing Commissioner Weightman's talking about delaying the affordable housing exemption only.

Several speakers And I don't y I realize Ralph probably hasn't even had a chance to brief you on this, but the governor just Sign legislation that it's it's all in an affordable housing bill, which I support affordable housing, but the legislature went one step further and said all of our commercially and industrial zoned land in the county can now be used for multifamily housing as long as forty percent of it's allocated for affordable housing. So everything that we have zoned for commercial industrial including this piece could now become multifamily housing under this legislation that the governor sought. That's why I'm asking this question. Is that something

Katessa Archer These are just some examples of the quality of the product that we build, inclusive of both interior and exterior product examples. These are our clubhouse areas, in addition to our playgrounds and outdoor pavilion areas. Like I said, we have a fitness center and some projects have a yoga and cycling studio in addition to Some um we're missing the interior photo, but we originally had interior photos in there. Um but moving towards Dominium and kind of talking about the affordability piece, one of the most important parts of our presentations to county commissioners is educating surrounding why affordable housing is important and why this project you know is is really a great use of. Of resources. Like we stated earlier, this project will be 100% affordable. Oftentimes, affordable housing projects come through for approval that only have small segments of affordable housing within them, which is fantastic. But we really believe in the a tried and true model of 100% affordability. The
